The prices you've been quoted are list price. Nobody pays list price, especially on mid-fi items. While the Take 5s are excellent for the size and online price ($500 with sub) it sounds like money and space is not your primary concern. Therefore I'd suggest the following speaker setup:

4 B&W DM302
B&W CC#3
Energy ES-10 Subwoofer

This combo, including tax, can be had for $900 from and authorized dealer. The B&Ws are much better than speakers than the tiny Take 5. The sub is also better than the 8" version. This combo is much better than the Take 5s. The Take 5s cannot be played loud and are only meant for small rooms. Get two pair of $100 Lovan stands for the 302 and you'll be set.

As far as receivers go, I don't recommend the Sony. You'd be better off with a Denon 2700. This doesn't have DTS, but DTS is dead. The Denon does have 6 ch. inputs. This receiver can be had for $600 from an authorized dealer. It sounds and is built much better than the Sony. Good luck!
