Best TV under $1500

My dad is interested in getting a new TV (probably about 35 inch). Since he know basically nothing about audio/video and the internet, he asked me to do some searching for him. Anybody have any recommendations? He is mostly concerned with the picture quality and less with the sound and other features which he will not likely use. Thanks in advance.
