Re: filter for cable tv

I'm just guessing but I would think it's related to your TV's power supply. When your TV is given a signal that has a lot of output in one color or at one time (many pixles on, all the same color) the power supply is bugging out on you. I doubt this has anything to do with dirty power supply or cable line, unless you get this noise all the time (I do and have to filter it out).

I would take the TV to someone for a checkup and tell them what is going on. This assumes the TV is worth enough to warrant the cost of repair -- your call on that one.

If you are having noise all the time in addition to the text problem then check out using one of those $75 (or so) Monster power strips. They have a fair hookup for cable lines that elminates most (not all) of the ground-loop problems associated with Cable TV lines mixing and mingling with your HT setup.
