... mounting the rears horizontally? I enjoy the psycho-acoustic distance this renders, making the rears truly ambient without loss of imaging or signal degradation from multi-source interference patterns (di-/bi-pole). the sole concern left is the distance from ceiling & floor, now that the speaker disperses vertically.
