"Dogman:" a violent crime thriller from the Italian director

responsible for, "Gomorrah." A small, mild-mannered dog groomer is bullied into crimes by a huge and extremely volatile and violent ex-boxer who regularly terrorizes his small Roman community. After being severely beaten and stiffed for his share of a crime, the dog-lover plots his revenge.

This film contested at Cannes for best picture and the lead won best actor, there. A terrific character study and, what sets it apart from its American counterparts: the lead actually scales a 3-story wall, scuba dives, and carries an immense weight for a long distance--- not a body-double in sight.

On Hulu; RT gives it a high score, too.
