'Strange Darling': Artsy Serial-Killer Noir

Posted by Billy Wonka on August 25, 2024 at 14:52:12:

This thriller is presented in six chapters out of sequence. Shades of 'Momento'. Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner dance around with a cryptic dialog interspersed with danger.

As the film moves on Barbara Hershey and Ed Begley Jr. Pop up as "old hippies" living deep in a forest stalked by Big Foot. Nice seeing these two, again. They still have their chops.

Well-acted, directed, and shot, this a nice exercise on the dark side of human nature. The twists and turns will keep you interested.

Not for the squeamish.
