For me it was easy: King Kong from 1976. The only redemption for that movie was the sexy Jessica Lange as "Dwan" (what's with that name?) The appearance of the WTC in this movie is a bit of nostalgia however, which might motivate one to watch at least the scenes with Lange's and New York's Twin Towers.

I agree, it made me sad seeing the towers. I had forgotten how many times they were shown in the last 1/3 of the movie. I used to play all the time in the plaza as a kid.

just one fake accent, seemed to change it every ten minutes, or so.
Very strange that this was such a stinker since the director of the original was responsible. A perfect example of Hollywood toxicity?

so i had a reason to complane.

It's a tough one.
Most remakes are either a way to cash in on the cult status of the originals[like King Kong or Psycho] or a cheap way of making films that proven to be successful overseas but are unknown here[script needs to be reworked a little bit, the original is already there as a production guide; voila.] Whoever came up with the idea was a financial genius. Those horrible remakes of Pierre Richard films are a "good" example.
Take your pic....Go to search and type " remakes "----------

I cannot remember one that I liked....could be wrong, but don't think so.
...both the Scent of a Woman and Return of Martin Guerre score extremely high on that scale. But I suspect I might change my mind after I finally have a chance to see the Solaris - I take it even AuPh puked all over it, and we awaited it like lost Polar expedition awaits its resquers... that Great White Hope fizzled apparently.

going to pick "King Kong" before I saw your text. So I'll pick "Sabrina".And I hope that Peter Jackson's "Kong" will at least have an early 1930's setting.

of raising hell on the public in the 30's than now. Cheez, with all the helicopters and shoulder-fired weapons it wouldn't get passed the dock.
