It underwent the same process, wonder how it sounds and looks? The movie is getting 3 1/2 stars all 'round."Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has been digitally re-mastered using the revolutionary and proprietary IMAX® DMR(TM) technology. The result is crystal-clear images and state-of-the-art surround sound, which provides our IMAX audiences with the ULTIMATE movie-going experience."

And is it a fully automatic process? If you take film and try to turn it automatically into a form for display on a digital projector, the colors are going to be wrong. Manual tweaking is crucial to the process. Then again, the term "digitally remastered" could mean just about anything these daze.

Just read about it. They put it back on film, not a digital projector. That's reasonable.

By didgitally mastering they can then clean up a film, especially an old damaged classic.

I did see The last Matrix movie at the IMAX at universal studios but I was unaware of any digital remastering. It didn't look very good at all. I just assumed it was an ugly looking movie shown all it's uglyness in a large format theater.

***ULTIMATE movie-going experienceMy ULTIMATE movie-going experience was the diarrhea scene in Dumb and Dumber.
Of course Bernadro will say that was my last experience, but I shall disagree with him.
I would break my rule and pay to see it in IMAX@DMR(TM)

As a matter of fact, I did get to see the last matrix in both Imax and on the regular screen. I have to say, it was pretty cool seeing the flying robots so large and close. It was a little too loud though (and no, I'm not 65 years old and grumpy, I'm 30 and just want to still have some hearing left when I'm 65). While watching the Imax, I thought, this is great once, but I'm not sure how much it really added in the end. I think I like the feeling of a traditional theatrical presentation more than the giant, loud Imax experience.Just my 2c.
