It kept me interested enough to look forward to each episode.
As a sort of cultural anthropology look at the extreme upper class lifestyle of pre-pandemic NYC, it's pretty great. Fantastic photography of the city and the lavish residences.
As a whodunit, it's pretty standard stuff. Lots of pointers in various directions to keep the viewer uncertain. This has been done often, and it is a winning formula, but it is nothing new.
But I did enjoy the acting all the way around. Hugh Grant is the standout, playing against his charming bloke persona, but also using it as part of a fairly complex personality. I thought the rest of them were fine, Donald Sutherland especially as infinitely rich curmudgeon.
If there is nothing that is really going to stay with me for long, I do like stylish murder mysteries, and this is one.
Follow Ups:
Twenty years over it.
.
of all the films she's been in the only one I remember is 'Dead Calm' and I had no idea who she was at the time
I know that she's appeared in several I've seen, I just can't name them or any of her characters ... which might actually be a compliment except I recall recognizing her, but then little else
regards,
I don't remember the name of her character in "To Die For" myself. But I sure remember some of the scenes. . .
(Wonderful movie BTW!)
she needs to leave her upper lip alone. No more botox!
case in point ...
I've not seen that flick ...
she has been blessed with a classy chassis though
perhaps I'll look it up if I can fit it into my 'busy' schedule
seriously, I've been pretty busy ... things should lighten up soon though
notice the 'descending steps' in the post composition? a technique that was acquired from my time as a Hallmark greeting card writer that I aspired to but never actually performed. also done in reverse as a two step!
with regards,
