This is a period piece story centered around a 15 old school boy and a 20 something young woman. The young man is infatuated with the woman who responds with little encouragement.
The 15 year old turns out to be a young capitalist who starts two business during the film. This gets the young women who still lives at home and is floundering with no direction involved.
There is more to it but all I will add is I enjoyed this one. It was a nice break from the drama filled films I have been watching lately. If I had to pick another film it resembles in nostalgia and good vibes it would be American Graffiti. Recommended
Follow Ups:
Two of the more less-than-average lookers teasing each other for far too long. The male teen is Seymour Hoffman's kid. I found it too long and nearly fainted at the number of Oskies noms it got. (That goes for that boring 'Power of the Dog'. too. Cumberbatch does not sell cowboy so well.)
So far 4 Academy Award nominees and all thumbs down for me.Licorice Pizza was too long and once again the characters are unlikeable. A romance I didn't care about and the two leads I didn't care about.
Meh 5/10 - it's the best of the 4 I have seen which isn't saying much.
And the fifth - West Side Story I shut off - I'll try again today but these Musicals IMO had their day - back before I was born - where they should have stayed.
The funny thing is Titane which won the Palme d'Or wasn't nominated and I get it it's grotesque and violent and all but at least it tried to do something outside the box in terms of the story and visuals. It at least attempted something worthwhile and actually managed to have more believable drawn characters in the fire chief father and serial killer - quasi father-daughter/son world.
An academy award movie should be a movie you would want to watch over and over again. That should be the PRIMARY requirement.
I look back to the 1990s and films that lost like the Shawshank Redemption and Quiz Show and Pulp Fiction are all far more rewatchable than the 4-5 so far I have seen this year. Eesh - I'd never watch Nomadland again. What were they thinking?

I saw House of Gucci five times and ordered the BR. To me, it is the uncontested POY with all four acting categories taken. Except for "makeup", it was completely snubbed which blows my mind. Some wag said, "HOG was the perfect Scorcese movie only made by Ridley Scott". The only problem was HOG was about wealthy, heterosexual, white Europeans.

I didn't see too many people of colour in Licorice Pizza or The Power of the Dog.
I have not seen House of Gucci so I can't say but it seems to me that everyone will have a film they feel got overlooked. In my case it's Titane.
Tinear loved Azon and The Hero.
a worse one?
It's a PT Anderson film so I'm already sold on it. He's never made one I didn't like. But thanks!
