starring Clive Brook.
A very British, very funny, and very strange comedy adapted from a very successful late '20s play. Clive Brook is smashing and very much holds his own with the redoubtable theater legend, Beatrice Lillie.
It's about two extremely self-centered and selfish people who are about to select far more equitable life partners when the little cherub with arrows appears.
The plot isn't much, as is the case in most comedies, and certainly in British "manners" comedies. It is the clever dialogue, the delivery of the most acerbic lines with aplomb and understatement, the careful stabs at the aristocracy which make the show.
This one doesn't disappoint. It very much deserves more fame.
