Investing in a Blue Ray player capable of streaming, or in a Roku streaming box will recoup itself quickly in reduced rent fees. At the rate you post here it is apparent your mail box is smoking from Netflix red envelopes - so streaming would allow you to reduce it to bare minimum.
It took me a while to find it.
BTW - what quality level do you normally get? It seems their server is seriously overloaded, I often only get two points, especially on Friday or Saturday nights.

We are obviously using different devices, on my Roku box there are up to four dots, then HD.

Out in the country, I didn't get much better than 140k tops. However, using "alternative" sources like torrents, that worked out just fine, with a little patience. It probably ain't legal to download US content, but I've found 720p versions of several French films, which I intend to watch with the WDTV Live. Those were mostly using direct downloads. Filestube is a useful search site.
The last couple of films I saw in theaters, I used a coupon off a cereal box and got in for free, though I did spend $$$ on snacks. I kind of miss the thrills of sneaking in beers in my coat pockets, or seeing a double feature for the price of one.
