Saw it on its THIRD weekend. The theater was full for the five PM show. Show was funny, good action, quite enjoyable. Did not see 3D. If you do go see it, there are TWO vignettes after the movie during the credit roll. One near the beginning of the credits, one at the very end.

Follow Ups:
I haven't seen The Avengers yet, but it seems that the Marvel guys seem to be doing a good job on this.
I thought the Robert Downey Jr Iron Man movies were pretty good.
I was impressed by Captain America - more than acceptable story for a "boys own adventures" type flick.
As for Thor - My wife is in love with Chris Hemsworth's voice, and I don't mind Natalie Portman's smile. Good story.
I'm probably taking the kids to see The Avengers this weekend and I think it will be one that we all enjoy.
Cheers,
John K
No complaints here!
I liked how efficiently and compactly they worked in the Black Widow and Hawk Guy stories without preceding flicks.
Mark Ruffalo is the best. Hulk. Ever. He was perfect for the part.
Much terrific dialogue - no surprise, Joss Whedon rocks at snappy dialogue.
One interesting side note:
Of the group of kids we took, I asked each which hero they thought was the 'main character.'
The girl in the group said, "Black Widow."
Two boys said, "Ironman/Tony Stark."
One boy said, "Captain America."
The last said, "Nick Fury."
Amazing variety just asking who the movie was about - which I think indicated The Avengers hit the mark.
That my kids are now old enough to see movies that I enjoy as well.
I thought The Avengers was great.
Nice humour written in.
Tom Hiddleston was so perfectly hateable as Loki.
I've rarely heard a cinema audience laugh and cheer so loud as when Loki started whining and not wanting to play anymore. The place erupted when the Hulk pulverised Loki into the cement.
Cheers,
John K
