The wife likes Jason Bateman as an actor, and we generally try and pick movies we will both like. Well, let's just say after 31 minutes of near torture we decided to shut this movie rental off. I very rarely do so, but just couldn't take any more of it. See it for free or don't at all. Your choice.
Follow Ups:
Separately. They need others to trigger their best performances.McCarthy was great in The Heat with Sandra Bullock to set her up. And Horrible Bosses 1 and 2 were gut-busters, with Bateman and sidekicks. Again, it has to be the right support for these comedians, or they flop like beached fish.
The real reason to see HB 1 and 2 is Jennifer Aniston who played right down the throat, so to speak, of her male fans' fantasies. Absolutely a hoot with her. Beside her sex appeal, she must have an IQ in the 160's. She is and plays a formidable character.

As for Aniston, I liked her OK in Friends, but haven't seen her in a role that really made me think she deserved the attention she gets. That includes the sex appeal...
Even in a "making of" she said she couldn't believe what's she said. That bit about her and Bateman setting up a seduction in her office was absolutely priceless.
...The Gift with Jason Bateman.
Excellent film.
Very different part for him.

'Spy' was the only McCarthy film that had a diverse cast and was, IMO, funny. Well done.
You didn't like "The Heat"? I was surprised how much I liked it considering the other MM movies I've seen. Haven't seen "Spy" yet, but definitely will.
[I absolutely hated "Bridesmaids" even though it has some of my favorite TV/movie females in it, MM not really being one of them.]
