Now there's HD VMD to think about too! Very clever that they've pulled off the feat using existing red laser technology and they claim much lower disk production costs than either Blu-Ray or HD DVD.

The disc may be slightly cheaper but production of the disc is not the major part of the $19 you pay for the HD disc. No mention of audio formats licensed to it, either. Now if you could get the HD out of your current DVD player, which the article implies, THAT WOULD be a clear winner.
