Will the studios ever simultaneously release BD's with DVD's?

I would have bought "Charlie Wilson's War" on BD, the moment it was released (or at least rented it). I presume this is a topic that has been hashed over before, so a link to a previous discussion would be helpful.

That particular title is distributed by Universal, which has yet to release anything on BD. Other studios like Warner are more likely to release their titles on BD on the day they release the DVD, or in the example I gave, even a week earlier.
