I subscribe to NETFLIX and on occasion receive a BD disk that won't play.
Most recently was a travelogue series on different countries (by Discovery Channel, i think). Enjoyed the one on Brazil but the one on China would not load. Both disks looked absolutely perfect.
I didn't ask for a new disk so don't know whether (or how) it could be defective. I am one version behind on my firmware -- is this the kind of problem that might be cured by an upgrade or is it something else??
Any help appreciated.
Robert

This title is at least a couple of years old now and therefore pretty ordinary in terms of fancy features as far as Blu-rays go, so your machine theoretically should have no trouble playing it. Generally speaking, firmware updates are released to address problems that machines might have with newer discs, which often have more advanced features (like PIP and BD-Live) than ones released in the 'early days'. (Some updates also add features or other functionality as well.)

The Wackness won't play on my Samsung. That would be the BR version. I contacted Sammy for the latest update and they are sending it to me on a DVD.
I'll install it and see if that allows play of the film.
...to deal with the BD+ updates the studios keep throwing at us. I'm also a firmware update behind on my LG BH100, and even the latest version has issues with certain recent Blu-ray releases.
