Nah, it's been around about as long as the 151. When I got the 151, the 141 was the same price as the 151 here: in Canada they both list for Cdn$8k. I guess you're paying for the ISF cal and greater settings flexibility (the 151 is pretty flexible already compared to the x020 series).
I needed the stand, and they charge quite a bit for it separately. Haven't even opened up the speakers box, I do not have the spare width to install them anyway, but some people like to use them for TV watching (i.e. not turn on the audio system) and say they aren't too bad for the genre. The ATSC tuner is quite good, I get all the U.S. networks on OTA HDTV, and the few Canadian ones I want to watch, with a simple indoor antenna. The OTA was an eye-opener compared to HD with cable. I was actually going for the 141, and the dealer convinced me to get the 151 because we are in a good area for OTA HDTV (which I didn't know at the time).
I needed a (bedroom) TV with speakers so the 141 was off the "look over" list. I don't know why it's more expensive.
I couldn't justify the premium for a stand, tuner ISF option and Elite badge--none of which I need.
How much TV do you watch in the bedroom? I don't want a TV there. My 50" kuro will go up for sale.
