Here's my main HTPC/server I use to fool people with. No one knows it is a computer unless I tell them. All they see is an antique radio below my TV. lol
LOL...Grant having a PC in the HT room isn't all that bad..really. You can have it set to boot directly into the media center. You have the option of using a remote similar to the one used for cable or TV. The only difference is yours isn't leased..you own it. ;-)Here check out this little video on an HTPC that will latch to the back of your TV. People will come over and have no idea there's a PC in the room.
You have over the Net HD movie streaming as well. The picture quality may not beat Blu ray, but it surpasses DVDs easily.

Media center? You mean my SS processor?
There's nothing leased in my room. Are you referring to the cable box? Owned if so.
Back of my TV... but I use a PJ. So when downloading I'd probably have to have a second smaller monitor.... aaaahhhh it's too much. :)
Thanks for the link. It is interesting, but more than I'm willing to take on until/unless I'm forced to by potentially losing BB type stores (also have Rogers in Canada). Dawnrazor also spoke to me about a music server a while back. It's all interesting, but I grew up with big black discs. Maybe one day.... good chance ONE day. :)
LOL..Grant..you're hard to please :-) .I use a PJ as well. In fact I have a PJ and a Flat panel attached to the same HTPC.

But it's more that I'm very content with my video system as it is, so why make changes that offer nothing "better" to my eyes. YaknowwhatImean? :)
It's called convenience. ;-)
Ceton cable cards to your HTPC and you can stream your cable broadcast or record up to 4 channels at the same time. You can access those recorded shows from any PC on your network. You could record two shows at once and be streaming two other shows at the same time if you like to different TVs in your home. This thing does it all using the Windows Media center as the brains. It basically does away with your cable boxes in a nutshell. All you rent from the cable company is the cable card itself.
