Connect the iScan directly to the projector and see what happens with regard to video. See video, then check on the Cary. Don't, then check on the iScan.
In retrospect, unless I'm missing something or a setting was changed, what you initially tried to do (iScan as a switcher) should have worked fine.

Joe, I'm really getting frustrated.
I disconnected the HD-DVR and Oppo, and was able to display the iScan menu with the projector. I made sure input was set to auto (seeks the active source) and the output set to AV1. I plugged the HD-DVR in; both video and audio reappeared. I plugged the Oppo in; both video and audio disappeared with either source. I again unplugged both the HD-DVR and Oppo, but was unable to bring up the menu on the screen. I then connected the HD-DVR directly to the Cary; the result was audio but no video. I connected the Oppo directly to the Cary; the result was neither audio nor video. I've ordered one of the little switches to which you kindly provided a link, but if a direct connection doesn't work neither will that.

Dan Wemmer at Cary suggested the HDCP handshake with long HDMI cable might be the problem and that I should consider an HDMI extender. As a test of the cable, Dan suggested a short link to a monitor. Oppo support suggested resets for the Oppo 95. I tried a short cable from the iScan Duo to a monitor and the resets Oppo suggested. The result was A/V from both the HD-DVR and BDP-95; the iScan Duo switched between the active inputs. I then reconnected the output of the iScan Duo to the ceiling mounted projector. The result was no A/V from either the HD-DVR or BDP-95. A Lumagen HDMI extender is scheduled to be delivered on the 30th.

I made the resets Oppo suggested, but it wasn't until I installed the Lumagen HDMI extender as Dan Wemmer of Cary had suggested that video through the iSan Duo from both the DD-DVR and Oppo 95 came up on the projector. Thanks Dan.
