One is a 15 year old Panasonic 42" that cost me enough to buy an 80" LED today. I bought another Samsung plasma a year ago or so when they were closing out one of their high end models for peanuts. The picture is smoother and more natural IMO, though the Samsung LED in the family room is quite good in the movie setting with a few tweaks. That room has too many windows and light problems for a Plasma.

The difference in pictures is simply night and day, in favor of the Samsung. Both listed for $2,800-$3,000, we both got ours for $2,000-ish. I've tried every possible setting on the Sony, it's just lifeless. The base model 65" Panny plasma in the media room kills the Sony and solidly beats that Samsung
