The Browning Version (1951) is easily one of the most powerful films I have seen in recent years.

This is Michael Redgrave's role of his career, and deservedly so. The whole film has strong hallmarks of the best British cinema.

Wonder how it would compare with the 1994 version. Old British could be the topper
