but for what? I really feel dirty after watching each epic-sode with its violence and vile dialog. Homelander and Butcher take it to the limits in this sometimes funny but mostly dark look at an alternate universe ring of Super-Heroes. Here, Supers are nothing more than children dopers who grow up with various powers and act like primadonna teenagers with zero self-control.

There is certainly twisted genius afoot with all the off-balance characters and their "to the limits" behavior. Nothing is sacred to this cast and they prove it every episode. It took me a few episodes to figure out the central plot buried in momentary subplots.

I will approach season two with guarded enthusiasm.

Very few moments of something resembling brilliance and and many, many moments not.

Pretty harsh most of the time with a few touching human scenes as it continues forward.

An hour of entertainment per episode is about all you can expect and all it seems good for.

Fair enough.
