Haven't seen the film, but I found this background about Rita very interesting. She appeared in the 1961 film, and is also in the 2021 version. A Puerto Rican, she almost backed out of the first film because of this line in the song "America" - "Puerto Rico, you ugly island, island of tropic diseases." It was rewritten because of her objection. She's been an activist against Hollywood racism before and since. Nominated for an Oscar, the studio refused to pay her travel money to the presentations. She paid her way to them -- and won.
