This might be my favorite Miyazaki film. Anyway, it will be playing in select theaters around the country on Sunday the 30th, Monday the 1st, and Wednesday the 3rd.

Another favorite of his work, "Spirited Away", will likewise be playing limited run in theaters at the end of October. I love seeing his stuff on the big screen when I can.

When I watched and enjoyed Spirited Away long ago, it never occured to me, but apparently it is not so hidden secret that the bathhouse represents child prostitution??

Then I'm like you. It never, ever occurred to me, but now that I think about what you've said, yes, I see it now. I saw it not too long ago in a theater, so I wasn't planning to see it again next month. However, am seriously reconsidering that now.

Thank you.

I saw "Spirited Away" in its original theatrical release...twice...I liked it. I found it loaded with subtext and metaphor but prostitution never crossed my mind either time although slavery did. I've got the DVD so I'm gonna watch it again sometime soon with this additional insight.

Thanks for that. I asked the wife if she wanted to go to the Sunday afternoon showing near us. Her response: "You don't have that one? I'll just order you the Blu-Ray from Amazon." It came today.

They are fantastic films for girls.
I have two daughters and this movie, and Princes Mononoke were our favourites.
