Is this just a Samsung feature, or are other mfr's coming out
with this upgrade?.

I was at Best Buy last weekend, and I saw a Visio that was QLED. It looked very good too. I like the Samsung QLED sets I have seen. I will probably go with one of those over OLED (because of various issues I keep hearing about) when my Panasonic plasma gives up the ghost.

Thanks...I'll stop in a Best Buy then. Yes, the trouble is that the Pano's
(and some others) are quite trouble free and can last 10+ yrs. :-)

My 50" plasma is from 2007. It is used every day, and it still looks great.

Wow, that's amazing...I guess Samsungs are hit or miss, my plasma's
are 8 y/o, doing fine.

TV, Player, HT Receiver.

Too bad, I never figured out how to get them all on one remote control.

After they killed plasma, I wonder what happened to their initiative in the home theater arena?

I think what killed plasma is that the technology could not
support 4K + res. and possibly power requirements.

My 2 Samsungs (55" and 40") are going on 11 yrs. My wife leaves one of them on 12 hrs a day.
