Couldn't agree more. As a super avid Bond reader in the 60s, the movie characterizations were terrible, and got worse, until Craig got on the scene. The book Bond was never a funny, flippant, guy. When Fleming died, it was akin to a death in the family.

so radically different. I never felt Moore was... dangerous. Or Brosnan. Nice guys. Bond especially wasn't so. Quite unpleasant, almost sadistic.

  Bond should probably be portrayed more like Villanelle in Killing Eve. She is more like what an agent should probably be like. A psychopath.
