strike a chord with many viewers. It didn't take me four viewings to appreciate it, but I'm glad your perseverance has paid off.
I've heard that it was radically cut down from an immense amount of footage. Reputedly, Adrien Brody's character had a larger role.
But I don't think we will ever see all this extra footage, unfortunate or not. The theatrical version stands on its own.
I enjoyed Hans Zimmers' soundtrack so much that I purchased it as well. It is HDCD, for the audiophile inclined.
Perhaps Jim Caviezel's best role, eh?

Hans Zimmers' best work for me and some of tracks struck a chord within me when i was going through a difficult period and used to seek solace in alpine area.
I've always like TRL too and overheard a few viewers' disappointing comments on the way out of the theater a few years back, stating it's too slow and not exciting like SPR.They don't get it and i appreciate T.Malick not dancing to the typical blockbuster way of film making and founf TRL worth repeated viewing.
