here you didn't get in the vastly superior "Alice in the Cities," several years earlier.
The major problem here is Stanton: he doesn't have the chops to carry a film like this: he's simply too un-charismatic to ever have gotten a babe like Nasty. She also seems to have no problems which would have led her into her profession. Not a bad film but certainly non-deserving of the hushed reverence some assign it.

I liked it more on second viewing, but it's not like it's in my top 10 or anything. "Wings of Desire" is a different story...loved it!
