If you like this sort of thing this trio of movies is done to a 'T'.
Very smart and engaging, though a bit grizzley...
thanks

Reality and art are not the same. Art is about under-saying, but stimulating... Pusher has very little to offer in the stimulation department, and too much in "reality".
Most people will agree "reality" TV sucks, why different standard here?
cliché patterns of Hollywood, i.e. the one noble criminal, the bad cop, the good cop, the whore with the golden heart, the cynical sub-text that crime is not really from any business, etc.
There also is no one guy armed with a handgun shooting down ten others armed with automatic rifles.
I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.
Now, on another topic, I just finished Part 1 of Satantango.
Brilliant.
Classic.
I simply cannot absorb any more for a few days, even though Tarr said it should be seen in one sitting. That, I think, is physically impossible, at least for me. 7 1/2 hours of Bela, straight!
***the whore with the golden heart
I think Patrick knows some. He, and Fiodor Mikhailovich...
But does he know a Dunia?
Since you appreciate Tarr, immediately place "Satantango" in your list. From the first bovine scene, you know you're in the hands of a master with a very, very unique view of the human condition.
