"Deliver us from Evil" covers the story of pedofile priest O'Grady from central California and the LA bishop that covered it up. You know the story, the guy is caught and the church just moves him somewhere else. After finally getting arrested and serving time he went to Ireland where Irish officials didn't know he was a convicted offender. This movie had more horror than a horror movie! The new pope was in charge of abuse allegations at the Vatican from 1978 until being selected new pope. Yikes! Did you know it wasn't until the 4th century that priests were required to be celibate? I didn't know that.

The mundaneity if evil.
I saw it a year or two back as a World Cinema Club presentation here in Brisbane and I thought it outstanding.
If I am not misunderstood... I think it extraordinary the way the priest was prepared to talk on camera whereas the representatives of the catholic church are truly unspeakable.
Is it an archbishop who refers to the lawyers apparently as the church's moral arbiters?
Yes O'Grady was so casual and matter of fact when discussing his crimes. It was sick. And yes the Arch did say he left it to the lawyers (I'm sure they informed him and he lied) Religion is........................
