Halfway like the English Patient and some soap Opera, with some literature passages and bon mot from time to time, I ask myself what has happened to the one who the one who make Enchanted April and other good works.
Horrible film with horrible mask, latex masks.
Acted horribly.
The worst film of the decade.
An horror.

Let's hope there's no attempt to butcher "100 Years of Solitude".

I completely agree. I have to say up front I have biases. I was snubbed by this production for the job of makeup. I found it interesting that you found fault with the makeup in particular. Ironically they went to great expense to digitally fix those makeups. When I saw how bad this movie was regardless of the makeup I was relieved that they chose not to use my services. In the end I think it simply proved crazy to try to adapt this piece of literature to the cinema. That always loomed in the back of my head even when I was trying to land this job.

  I got to see it for free - thank goodness.
  
  And the make-up *was* bad. But there were so many other problems, that was the least of it for me.

    Indeed. That is why i am glad in the end that I was not a part of it. Fixing the makup would have done little to fix the movie.

  The same problem I had with this amateurish job of the make up, I never saw such a bad work!
  Newell must be blind!
  And you say they tried to fix it up with digital power!
  What a fiasco!
  A terrible patch work of literature and lack of inspiration.
  When you got not enough money one should avoid big production.
  The recording guys did a good job, and then this breast close up was something...
  That was it...
