Much noises about nothing.
And I am confused.
Even more tortuous than the pseudo matrix.
Follow Ups:
I've articulated numerous times why this is a quality film, and so have many other professional reviewers. If you don't get it, you don't get it.

...how many reviewers loved it. Many others did not. (Stephanie Zacharek among several notables.)
If you love it - OK. Enjoy it.
But we'll see what the critical consnsus is 20 years from now. And its quality has nothing to do with its comic book origins, but in the choices of its filmlmakers.
For luck we all donīt have the same taste.
What a boring world it would has become.
I think my time is over for that kind of film. Like the last Raiders, I can not find any kind of pleasure in this kind of film anymore, save the older one.
Is it me or the new films.
Maybe both.
I have no desire to see that. But these two Batman films from Nolan are really morality explorations that go into significant depth. There is plenty to sink one's teeth into, if you're hungry. But it seems like the action turned you off.

but a bloated piece of crap. But I know lots of people who loved The Dark Night.

Well if you read Harmoniaīs post you see what I felt.
Well now I am not outraged at that movie!
Too long too repetitive for my taste.
But this kind of films, I see, the more I grew older the more I dislike.
It is merely an exercise of form, to still get in touch with what is done at the moment as a very love for this kind of films.
I saw( and bought ) Superman I and I still like it.
Give a go to ( if you feel at it ) to " Couscous " a really, not perfect film but a good one.
Produced by Claude Berri you wonīt regret it.

for what it was.

Or just gaga...
and found it almost unwatchable. A big mess of a movie with some neat effects.
Ledger was, however, spot on. He nailed the Joker perfectly - just as I imagine he should be.
The most overrated movie in recent years
thanks
Phil
...so I could leave the theater. I disliked it the first time, hated it the second viewing.
Structurally, narratively - a mess. Ambitious, but painfully put together. I hated spending time with it. Almost got up and left before it was over.
I normally like Nolan and everyone cast in this movie a lot. Enjoyed Batman begins. I do think it was vastly overrated. VASTLY. Benjamin Button is overrated as wll, but it didn't eceive the critical praise, fanboy adoration and megabox office TDK did.
We feel the same about this film, you almost leaving the theater and me stopping the " play " of my DVD player your words are mine.
Only that I feel the same for every Nolanīs film more or less.
On this it was more than more.
Nolanīs construction just donīt work for me.
I even wonder who rate that film highly!
A big mess actually is the right perspective.
that would be Benjamin Button.
I really have no desire to see either again
thanks
Phil
Ledger's performance was the only decent thing in the whole movie. It was 1/2 too long, and the two face subplot felt tacked on. Whenever I saw 2 face, the only thing I could think of, was "Why doesn't he get infected?".
I was disappointed.
Jack
Without the two-face character, the entire exploration of the movie was lost. It's little wonder you guys didn't like it. You never really grasped what it was about. Nothing less than a fable of our times.

Not really. Just another comic book movie taking itself way too seriously.
Yes, its Good Vs. Evil-its a comic book.

It's just not a very good film Jazz and of course it's always easy to glean support for ones bias in any movie, which is what seems to have happened with you and TDK.
Ledger and Bale were good but a good part of TDK's success is based on Ledger having died just before the movies release..this turned a very ordinary film into a kind of 'monument' for him.
An okay popcorn movie but nothing deeper than that.

in addressing some of the key political issues of our time. Sure, you can watch it as a popcorn movie, and therein lies its genius. But if you really want to open your eyes and take a deeper look, you can do that too. Well, you can't, but astute observers can.

Ledger and Bale are good but the movie is all style and no substance. It felt longer than it is. There were many in the theater who seemed to share my discomfort during it and relief when it was finally over.
I give it two stars out of four.
I wish you and several others would quit equating Bale's miserable performance with Ledger's one-for-the-age's one.
Well after ten minutes of seeing ledgerīs tong I get worried and sick and felt unease.
Even the scenes with Caine seems not to bring me what they use to bring.
As for the woman ( what is her name ?) she look like porgy.
d
Well it was in german...
But the film...I did even did go until the end.
How can one support to see that kind of merde for two hours or more.
Not me.
And I wouldn't say that... just because.
Bale when Batman was memorable; not necessarily in a good way. His deep, fake voice was the butt of some jokes for a while. As Wayne he was OK, a bit Keanu Reeves to me.
Two-face's acting was only OK as well, a bit melodramatic perhaps.
I can always count on Morgan Freeman.
Maggie G was OK, but didn't have the looks to pull off what the Joker referred to as beautiful (I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder)
Special effects were quite good.
Overall I think the movie was a good popcorn flick with equal acting by Ledger and Freeman. Somewhat over-rated IMO, but a fun flick nonetheless.

A thankless role in any case.
Bale's preformance was off the scale weird.
Ledger was outstanding.
Did you post that to say you think she's a looker or no?

Heather Graham has disappeared and no one has come along to take her place.
Is she the only sexy woman in Hollywood to you?
IMO there are a few:
-Penelope Cruz
-Jessica Alba
-Keira Knightly
-Rachel McAdams
-Diane Lane
-Kate Beckinsale
-And for me also somehow; Zooey Deschanel, there's something about her
-And likely many more I can't currently think of.
None, really? :)
Interesting, not one blonde on my list...

I meant visible, mainstream actresses.
Keira is intelligent, lady-like, but hardly sexy.
Scarlett I'd add........
I think Keira is very sexy, Scarlett does nothing for me. C'mon, you can think of more. :)

Until she get anorexic.
I saw her right now in her latest film.
Bone without flesh.
But she act quite good.
The most important for a movie is it not.

Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
Haha that is true!
I still think she's stunning, but was much better with a few burritos under her belt.

see I drew an imaginary line...
Not since David Letterman at the Oscars have I seen so much red...
I just feel warm and fuzzy when I see her name...
OK I always feel fuzzy...
UMA
thanks
Phil
Uma is my girl.
Winona, too.
Penelope on odd days.
Selma on even.
I don't own her, Uma just comes to me naturally...
and I try not to drool on myself...
it's a collaboration you see...
thanks

Have her album.
Jack
Or I'll have another dream about her. Funny, I don't ever recall having a dream about anybody famous before.

An interesting follow up on "The Wizard of Oz" though Zooey sort of gets lost under Kathleen Robertson's well-filled metal bustier.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
Seen it. Odd but mildly interesting movie.
She was good in it.

Or perhaps not...

Never seen it, or I think even heard of it... maybe I'll rent it now. :)
I don't recall ever hearing of of her until I rented The Happening a month or so ago. Her face on a 110" screen pretty much mesmerized me though. That night, well, for those who've seen the movie; I had a dream about her and I...
