That's The Fox And The Child to non-French speakers.
Directed (and written) by Luc Jaquet who made March Of The Penguins, I thought it was probably just a kids' film, but watching the trailer I suddenly knew I wanted to see it as soon as I could.
I have no idea how some of the scenes in the trailer are done, but who9 cares... it is just beautiful.

To start with the only real downside... Kate Winslett is too adult to read the voiceover (in my opinion), the words which have been described (in translation) as clunky should be in a child's voice... describing the fox as cute (twice) sounds silly in Winslett's middle class tones.
But having said that, everything else about the film is beautiful.
The scenery, the animals.
There are a lot of ooooooh aaaaaaaaaah moments and one really shocking scene near the end (no spoiler).
At least one time you could hear the collective holding of breath from the audience...
As the only human character is a 10 year old girl, I am guessing anyone with a daughter aged... mmm 6-11 will get real value in the inspiration per buck stakes from this film and so will most of those who like to see ourselves as grown up... ;-)
If some of the scenes have been assembled on a computer then I certainly couldn't spot it all.
It's partly as magical as Pan's Labyrinth and partly as gorgeous as anything David Attenborough has ever put his name to.
There is a learning in the film as well about how animals are not our possessions and how they live free to both good and bad effect.
Take tissues, you will need them.
At 90 minutes, it's not too long for small children, but it just zips past for adults.
It might just be inspirational enough to stop your daughters dreaming of pink princesses for at least a few nights. It's very good.
