It's suitably muddy and the storyline becomes ever less likely.
Cate looks lovely in a tired and worn kind of way and all sorts of 8 year olds could have cracked the double dealing but not the king of England.
It's enjoyable but don't mistake it for anything like history.
Crowe does a nice job of being in two places at once towards the end when he leads the archers on the cliff and miraculously accompanies the cavalry along the beach.
Errr...
Follow Ups:
Seems that lately there's a convention in medieval pictures that the sky is always overcast and dull, as though the Dark Ages were literally dark.
It's pure kiddy stuff despite a couple of "adult" jokes slipped in which makes me think it was originally aimed at children.
"My husband left almost immediately"
"A good night"
"Short and sweet"
"No, I meant he WAS a good KNIGHT"

you sleep through that or... do you think that's good kiddy fare?
Have you never read the Brothers Grimm?
Children's stories are traditionally very gory and violent.
It's only the post-Disney cleaned up purity league of America who have denied it.

and having 40-ft. tall characters, 100-db surround sound, and graphic depictions of gory blood-letting.
And the usual US pornification of violence.
So obviously nothing to upset the little dears. Cate only even undresses behind some inexplicably sheer curtains.
A lost lamb of a film.

scripts, unimaginative and derivative ones to boot, and the substitution of loud music, FX, and gore for plot line and character development. I won't even get to dialogue. "Make my day" has been the high point for the past 2 decades.
... for someone who hasn't seen it

Seems just a tad perverse....

you if from time to time, you attempt to recall there is such a thing as tongue-in-cheek. If the image of a shit shake angers you, instead of bringing a grin to your face....
..has not been good for him.
Chuckle... ;)
I'll wait for its "Television Premier" then.
... in my opinion.

..in a nutshell that's it.
the requisite gore, commensurate with said acts, was missing. To help with the PG-13 rating.
No, I haven't seen it, nor will I, WAYYYYYYYYY too overhyped
