it was not slow it just never got very good.
The first one is still better because it had the 'new' factor and a better story too, though terribly cheesy...
rent it - not worth going to the movies for

Follow Ups:
I love the series, just for the great concept of Predators and whatever the hell world they must inhabit, but this movie bugged me a little:
1) How the hell the Lawrence Fishburn stay chubby after "ten seasons" and "not enough food to go around?" Adrian Brody should have played the guy who'd been on planet for that long.
2) Did you ever notice that after the first time a monster appears in a film, in the sequels the same monsters get easier to kill? I think they slightly cheapened Predator with falling into that same trap.
Other than that, I enoyed the usual Predator predator-ness!

and there should have only been one. It was not too bad given the potential to be terrible, and the track record of this series, this one tried and partially succeeded to bring something new to the series imo

some good gun porn, some good booby-traps, some good FX and some decent Predator back story, or at least a bit more than we had.
I give it a solid 7.
I see the next hunting party getting a big surprise.
