Slow, slow, slow.
Did I mention it was slow? This movie builds about as slowly as the new towers at ground zero.
Forget the trailers, they totally misrepresent this non-action flick. The plot is unimportant, the acting is wonderful and there are some really great tits to keep the guys from falling asleep.
I liked it. Some left early and some were heard to say it was boring, on their way out.
If you go in thinking its an action flick, you will be bored to tears. If you enjoy a well shot film, have patience and pay attention, it is rewarding.
That's my 2-cents and worth half what you paid.

An exceptionally well-acted film that feels like a Shakespearean tragedy. I was very glad to see that it was not yet another version of the Bourne films. My admiration for Clooney's skills as an actor grow with nearly every film he does.

...me and you.She was severely disappointed. I tried to explain why I liked it. She has concluded I am nuts ...a conclusion she draws often.
I agree, Clooney did a great job. I admired how intensity could be felt in situations without bringing music in to hint at it ...it was simply acting.

I'm proud for you, my brother. I recognized the Antonioni touch and the existential throwback to 60's European films but couldn't dismiss the thin plot. Right from the start, two hit boys show up and their target is an expert mechanic himself. So, what do they do? One guy waits by the car. I'm thinkin this calls for getting their acomplished target in a crossfire. But, then we might not have had a movie. Sergio Leone could have given us better. I was scratching my head wondering what Clooney was doing in this flick. Then it occurred to me, making a movie had to have come up with he and his neighbors in Italian cinema, or banking. "Come ona, Georgio. We gotta do a somnthing to-a-gether". He's got a house over there, you know. Like my wife said, "He wouldn't have had to drive far". But, you're not alone, Roger Ebert gave this 4 stars! I'm thinkin opiates, probably. I wonder what Italian critics and movie go'ers thought of this.

...one paper loved it - a European-style film about a depressed, lonely assassin taken from the perspective of over his shoulder. Brooding and slow.
The other didn't like it much.
I like Clooney but it sounds like a video rental to me.
...that way when you fall asleep there will be no need to wake up at the end to leave.
