Scorsese included this in a list of the 15 best gangster movies (excluding his) of all time that recently appeared online in The Daily Beast. I added it to my Netflix queue.

See him in Sunset Boulevard, The DI, and The Men and he shines, even with his limitations. Great whiskey brogue, used to its best effect in radio. I liked the way he used his limitations to his advantage, and to great success in television.
