Farewell My Lovely

Last week I caught the last 1/2 of this movie on Showtime. That served to remind me that this is a rather enjoyable Phillip Marlow Private Eye flick. So I searched for future showings on FIOS. Jan 4, 2011 at 11:00 pm is next showing.

Rampling kind-of had that Loren Bacall look going for her back then, which either made her just right for the flick, or distracted from it, depending on one's point of view.
Prepare for a walk along the seamier streets of 1941 LA. Very atmospheric.

The Mitchum version is an excellent film,as good as Murder My Sweet,the one with Dick Powell as Marlowe.
Farewll is not available on DVD..at least it wasn't the last time I looked on amazon.

    Nzh,not THAT badly.Thing is,I taped it off a local PBS(WHYY) chasnnel but I threw it out by mistake.
