...that Firth's Albert is indeed not the public image of kingliness? He's a serious person, but a vulnerable one. Besides, Jeremy Irons is too old to play the part. As much as I adore Rickman, I thought Rush was fine. Even Helena Bonham Carter was good.
The King's Speech is nicely done, a bit overrated in some circles MIO, but well acted and presented. No big surprises, but very enjoyable 2 hours.
One thing I thought the film did rather well is show what a complete fool Albert's brother was, my God, thank goodness he abdictaed.
Follow Ups:
I didn't think Rickman and Fiennes should have been cast, merely how superior their skills were. I find English acting, perhaps because of a lessening of the Shakespearian model, has fallen.
