...one night a few weeks ago when my wife was out.
It was surprisingly entertaining - if you don't mind lot of fights, shooting and explosions without much plot to get in the way.
He's had some face work done but doesn't seem to take himself as seriously as when he was younger.
Follow Ups:
charming, self-deprecating (I never pretend I know how to box off the set), very humorous, gracious to his fans. Sly apparently never forgot where he came from.
Many years ago I worked for a photographer who photographed many celebrities. I met Sly while on a publicity photo shoot in LA for a movie he did with John Travolta. Sly was very down to earth and gracious, as was John who I had worked with before. In my experience working with many celebrities, the real A list types were always the nicest, whereas some of the B and C list types who eventually had careers that flamed out were real jerks. And they wonder why...
...his radio interview on a local talk station about 10 years ago where he went ballistic over a caller's comment about the "squirrel on his head" is a local legend.
A law school class of mine was a police officer in Florida, and was hired as private security to follow Burt Reynolds around during homecoming at Florida State. He told me this story. Ricardo Montalban and Dom Deluise were with them. Burt Reynolds got access to the Florida State stadium (you know he was a quarterback there) to go onto the field and throw footballs. Ol' Burt was apparently trying to impress Montalban and Deluise.
Florida was very hot, as some well know. Apparently, Reynolds had make up caked on his face which melted in the Florida heat. Makeup was running down his face. Then, to top it all off, Burt was throwing a football around, and Montalban turned to my classmate, who was standing next to Montalban, and told him "What an asshole."

Look at it...it's funny...
Baba-Booey to you all!
Of all of the stars that go to Laker games he is by far the most gracious. When fans yell out his name as he's walking to his court side seat he will stop and wave etc. Most of the other stars just ignore it. I've never met or talked to him but he seems like a nice guy.
