Anyone here ever see the series? I've started watching it, and it's quite good. Late 1960's cold war espionage, etc...Its lineage is goofed up because Thames broadcasting erased most of season one's masters into oblivion, and the dvd's to be found have seasons somewhat out of order. Set one is actually season 3. I started on that set, and got totally hooked by the writing and fine acting. I'm so smitten with the series, I ordered all I could find of the series-including the surviving episodes of year one-and I am waiting until they arrive, so I might watch in chronological order. Video quality is poor, but it's so good, I able to ignore its shortcomings.
Follow Ups:
Yes, remember this was on TV when I was a kid; it's a triumph of skillful writing + acting over almost no budget at all...
You might also enjoy "The Prisoner" Patrick McGoohan, which was made about the same time but not as long lived a series
Edward Woodward also stars in a few films, "Breaker Morant", which is based on a true story + is 5-Stars superb, and "The Wicker Man" which I don't rate quite as highly but is still a cult classic + still very salvageable cinema
Alas Edward Woodward is no longer with us, he died in 2009
GW
But Clark used to consider it almost the best film ever... if not the best.
