I can not explain this movie but did enjoy it.Dario Argento meets David Lynch?
It has a surreal and visual quality and the music/sound effects enhanced the viewing.
Almost like an accident you can not look away from but a tender side too.
Worth a look for the adventurous viewer.

It's Alejandro Jodorowsky at his outre' best and one hell of a Western.

..3 years after El Topo.
Equally kitsch/mystic with platform boots mixing with Kaftans & the Tarot (now a fav topic of AJ who teaches tarot classes in Paris)
I rented El Topo again years later (loved it when it came out) and ended up being the only viewer left in the room!
They're very dated but I still love their innocence, rage & 'vision'.
It ran as a midnight movie in NY during the 70s for a period
maybe someday I will venture a peek

...I rented it after Roger Ebert recommended it on "At the Movies".
One of the most bizarre films I've seen.
And I've seen a few.
