The second part now is streaming, so I took a look.
A totally lame production... with no dynamics, no interest... just a long and tedious stream of boring sameness. Didn't finish it, turned off without a regret... will finish watching next time, just to be done with it.
Follow Ups:
Best Actor.
A fascinating character, as portrayed, and not romanticized. He was a vicious, murdering thug, but that doesn't mean he didn't have human traits. In other words, the film portrayed a man, not an archetype. I don't know how much was fiction, but this wasn't a documentary. It's far superior to any crime film of recent years. Only "Carlos" is as exciting, as pulse-pounding and entertaining.
For lovers of film noir, look no further!
If not for her presence the film would have been a total snoozer...

Cassel can show out better than that.
The director was too guilty of romanticizing Mesrine. I guess Bonnie & Clyde started all that crap.

The whole film is lame, but the last scenes are truly done at the level of TV soap opera.
