I streamed a mediocre, poorly dubbed French film last night titled "Chrysalis". It took place in the future and Albert Dupontel was a "Europolice" investigator trying to locate a machine that could erase and implant memories.
Point being that hand-to-hand was the primary altercation throughout the film. I found it interesting that juxtaposed to Asian-Anglo films there was none of this flying around the room with tumbles, twists, and twirling face kicks. It was toe-to-toe arm "fencing". Most flying about came from a shove or being slung into something. Brutal but refreshing over the typical "Hollywood" fight scene. I have noticed this form of "combat" in French and other Euro films mostly and find it much more realistic than dancing across rooftops.
Btw, I am not recommending "Chrysalis".

The maniac with the gun to the blond's head is the choreographer and, I presume, some sort of martial arts honcho.
