I always loved his Watson with Jeremy Brett as well as his role in Shadowlands.
Always impressed me as just a very decent gent..
Follow Ups:
His father was nicknamed " hardprick " well...
He played in Shadowland a wonderful part.
He lived and died in a wonderful place in England.
Edward Hardwicke's Watson is the perfect counterpoint to Jeremy Brett's Holmes.
I marvel at their accomplishment in bringing the adventures of Sir Conan Doyle's books to life. I read the whole Sherlock Holmes works as a teenager, and was always delighted in the way the mysteries were realized for viewing.
They have no peer in my opinion.
RIP
He was the son of Sir Cedric Hardwicke, too, one my favorite actors.
