"The Company Men": Mega Ouch for our time . . .

Three men, same company lose their jobs at different times. They are at three different levels of management and must somehow adjust their lives to zero income with little prospects for quick re-employment if at all.

This has been the story of our times and now it is laid out in a nicely done, sanitized, upper middle class version. Ben Affleck is the 37 years old sales exec, Chris Cooper the section chief, and Tommy Lee Jones the division head and co-founder face the continuing fallout of 2008's crash. There company shares plummet and put Craig T Nelson, CEO, in defensive mode so as not be a target for takeover. The pink slips fly and each man deals with it in his own way at his own level.

I have a feeling a lot of guys here have seen this. It's like the elephant sitting in the room. It's just too close to home and too real to be talked about.

Very good script, emotionally charged, meaningful. Everyone could identify with it no matter what.

melodramatic? It appeared like this was a film that after you saw the trailer, nothing much was left except the "gravy" of actually seeing the entire film. Hell, it even told the ending. What's with this Hollywood trend? Same with comedies: they show all the best gags.

      You probably can't relate to any of this so you might as well skip it.

......with two of the finest actor/actresses of our time, Michael Cane, and Elizabeth McGovern.

The scene at the train station is the most emotionally charged and chilling, and at the same time, heart warming scene I have ever seen.

    ....how he started losing humanity to get 'justice', and how it led that scene at the train station near the end was still mesmerizing.
