I was not making a judgement about Arnold's activities, just reporting them. The documentary was interesting.
I saw "Bigger, Faster, Stronger" and felt it was an unrealistic portrayal of steroid use. It showed one person's experience and his opinion that steroids were not harmful. You might think that this would be the point of it, but it was not portrayed that way. It was an inappropriately biased view of steroids.
As far as me seeing a lot of dumb ideas: I think we all do.
The idea that WTC 7 fell down by itself.
The idea that the world's largest office buildings were brought down with precision by airliners.
The idea that the world's largest office buildings spontaneously turned to dust.
The idea that Muslim extremeists were able to pull this off, and it was not an inside job.
On another topic,
The idea that we are not being visited by extraterrestrials because the government denies it.
These are all dumb ideas that require a staggering lack of common sense to believe.
Follow Ups:
If the flick used the nazi thing, it sucks.I didn't say it outright. Partly because I know you love the
ridiculous. But mostly because others would read it and I wanted to tell them it was mindless BS.
Bigger Faster Stronger is a terrific documentary. Rotten Tomatos gave it 96%. The problem you have it
with it is that it is accurate and even handed. And it's not really about steroids, and it certainly doesn't promote them.
It's about a profound flaw in American culture. Which they basically
say.... "the side effects of being American"

Mentioning Nazi connections does not invalidate the documentary. You're commenting on a film you haven't seen.I certainly would not call Bigger, Faster Stronger even handed or a good (let alone a terrific) documentary. It essentially promotes steroids to young people. The filmmaker was a steroid user and he found them to be just dandy. He is lucky he didn't have any physical or psychological problems from the drugs.
I didn't feel they made any meaningful comment about American culture. The movie is ALL about steroids and it does a bad job of it.

You didn't deny it.
So I was right, they simply used the family involvement with the Nazis to
smear him.
That invalidates the film right there.
You completely missed the point of Bigger Faster Stronger.
And it's so simple a child should comprehend it. He didn't succeed, while
the success he did see was often a result of steroids.
He was so disturbed about this hypocrisy he made a movie about it.
They did not just talk about his family's involvement with Nazis, but Arnold's, including one Nazi not allowed into the US who was invited to his wedding. Again, watch the film before commenting.
I followed the steroid movie, I just didn't find it terribly good. As for making some great point, I thought his message was weak, other than NOT being anti-steroid from a health standpoint. I thought that was incredibly irresponsible of him and it was the only memory I have of the amateurish effort at film.
