Didn't see the first two.
I liked Barry L, but my least favorite of his ouvre as its pacing killed it, FOR ME.
"1a" would be 2001.

... in which case, for me, is my problem with "2001, a Space Odyssey". I love its visuals, even the ending makes sense, but the first half takes eons of popcorn to justify.
In "Barry Lyndon", Kubrick's masterful use of music mitigates my impatience most times.
Ever been without a watch in the woods camping? That is how natural time seems to flow, which Kubrick nails in BL.
it was a slight film, considering the time I invested in it. Sorry, imagery only goes fo far. 2001, while slow, had a huge payoff, i.e., everything from the point where the astronauts got the false reading on the external communications unit to the end.
I wonder why BL is never shown on pay movie channels? For that matter, any Kubrick films?

for its initial theatrical release at age 12. I actually remember finding it engrossing and most vididly recall how uncomfortable I felt through the scene with the topless wenches,lol.. sort of the way I remember feeling when the Bad Company song; "Feel Like Makin' Love" would come on the AM radio when on long drives..
