Heard of Dr Strangelove (1964), but I've never seen it.
The rest I've never heard of other than below.
What I've seen in order from best to worst:
The Shining (1980) - Haven't seen it for a long time. Interesting, pretty decent, a bit disturbing for my taste
Spartacus (1960) - Seen a long time ago, thought it was OK as I liked that type of movie when I was younger
Lolita (1962) - Saw it also quite a few years back. Interesting, not great from what I recall
2001 (1968) - Over-rated IMO. OK movie at best
A Clockwork Orange (1971) - Seen it under influence a long time ago, thought it a very strange movie
Full Metal Jacket (1987) - Saw it once a long time ago. Thought it was OK, too gory for my taste
Eyes Wide Shut (1999) - Dung. Shut it off after about 1/2 hour of torture
So I guess for my taste, for the most part his movies got worse as time went on.
Follow Ups:
...see it today.
Baba-Booey to you all!
... all that skepticism in 1957!!
I feel "Paths of Glory" betters Dr. Strangelove (except for humor and title) as a statement on politics within the military hierarchy.
Should be preparatory viewing in high school before the ROTC comes around.
